Smiths Falls, ON – November 6, 2025 – The Small Business Advisory Centre (Smiths Falls, Lanark County, North Leeds Grenville) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the next intake of the Starter Company Plus program, beginning in January 2026.

Funded by the Ontario Government, Starter Company Plus provides aspiring and existing entrepreneurs with the essential training, mentorship, and potential grant funding needed to start or expand their small businesses. The application deadline is December 1, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.

“Starter Company Plus is more than just a program—it’s an opportunity for entrepreneurs to transform their businesses. With expert support, meaningful connections, and access to possible funding, we help business owners build confidence and skills to achieve lasting success. This program has already helped so many local businesses achieve their goals, and we’re excited to see what this next cohort will accomplish,” said Cindy James, Small Business Advisory Centre.

Participants will benefit from hands-on business training in strategic planning, financial management, and marketing, while connecting with mentors and fellow entrepreneurs in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The program is open to entrepreneurs aged 18 and older who are in the early stages of their business or expanding an existing one (under five years old). Participants will complete business training, develop a solid business plan, and have the opportunity to pitch for a grant of up to $5,000 to support their business growth.
